Self-Care
As an eldest daughter, I used to pride myself on taking care of everyone else and not needing “help.” To be honest, I secretly loved when I volunteered for any and everything. I valued being busy and exhausted, wearing it with pride.
Now that I’m in my 30s, I know better.
Burnout is real and to be honest, I knew that I used to thrive on those feelings for a reason (and not a good one).
Intentional self-care is important for me as I navigate life and try to release harmful thoughts and behaviors. Whether it’s writing affirmations or planning my week so I know when to schedule self-care, I’m doing what I can to work through my mess and heal. Of course, stationery and planning help me along the way.
